Transactional analysis
TA is a psychoanalytic theory and method of therapy wherein social transactions are analyzed to solve inner conflicts and relationship problems by understanding unconscious patterns rooted in parent, adult and child ego states.
Some of the key concepts in Transactional analysis is that it is self-deterministic, decisional and looks at early decisions made under the influence of significant others in our developmental years.
It is grounded in the self-parenting and re-parenting models. The aim of TA therapy is to the individual achieve intimacy, authenticity and interactional integrity.
