Co-Parenting for Divorced Parents
Divorce can bring out the worst in us and no child should have to bear the brunt of their parents’ differences. Co-parenting does not require that the separated parents be friends, however it does require co-operation.
The focus must shift from your grievances to serving the child’s interest. Remember, the compromise your ex is asking of you today, could be the favour you will require of him/her in the future.
During our time together you will learn how to leave the past and cultivate tolerance, check your ego at the door, set boundaries, expectations and guidelines for co-parenting. You will be guided to identify the do’s and don’ts of co-parenting, and how to successfully co-parent in a blended family.
Typical issues that need to be addressed as part of a co-parenting arrangement can include:
- Finances
- Medical needs of the child
- Education fees for the child
- Vacations, visitations and special events
- Mutual favours
- Disciplinary issues
- Emergency back up plans
- Attendance of special events
This is an 8-module program which can be conducted on a family basis or in small groups.
