General anxiety

Generalised Anxiety is a disorder characterised by constant and irrational anxiety without any reason.

It is a highly stressful condition where the individual is constantly restless and edgy combined with a feeling of being out of control.

The individual is lethargic and tired, with low energy levels (feeling drained).

The muscles are tense, especially on the back, neck, and shoulders.

The anxious individual finds it difficult to concentrate or focus on tasks/activities.

Negative thinking is often characterised by catastrophizing.

Therapy focusses on both dealing with the underlying cause of this disorder and also on elimination of catastrophic thinking.

It may have been triggered by a life-changing past event, a subconscious habit, childhood fears and experiences, or a negative mindset.

Therapy focuses on ing the client move beyond the past and find new adaptive and positive ways of thinking.

Depending on whether pathology is rooted in past patterns or due to underlying depression and current problems, we embark on a program which s the individual achieve mastery over their anxiety and negative thinking.

The approach is highly evidence-based using several tools in CBT, exposure de-sensitisation, journaling, clinical hypnosis, EMDR, mindfulness and meditation.

Treatment is highly rewarding as it releases a lot of negativity, fears and self-defeating patterns relating to life.
