Anger
Anger is a consuming and destructive emotion. It is a learned habit – practiced over the years, it becomes an ‘auto-pilot reaction’.
In our counselling sessions, we go beyond ing you manage anger. We deconstruct the emotion to examine its pathology. This means that we look at childhood experiences, core and limiting beliefs, impulse reactivity, contextual and cultural triggers, parental interjections and communication styles unique to you and your life.
Anger could be expressed in an aggressive, avoidant, passive or sarcastic manner. We you master communication and diffusing techniques to avoid getting into an escalation of anger.
Most anger deceleration techniques go beyond anger management. We impart techniques rooted in meditation, mindfullness, acceptance, self-compassion and empathy, and self-enquiry.
We also you understand your unconscious thought patterns and challenge certain patterns of thinking which trigger anger in you.
Your responses may be situational, triggered by external forces or systemic. The aim of therapy is to address these triggers and thereby you to achieve calm and balance.
